A FREE art event to celebrate Butch Patrick’s visit to Geneseo. Children can come to the Smith Studio and Gallery to create a special “Grandpa Munster” art project.
This is a Drop-In event. No registration required.

Yarn Painting #13025

The Huichol are an indigenous people of Mexico. They are well known for the vibrant beauty of their art and weaving. In this unique class we will look at Huichol yarn painting and then create our own unique image in yarn. Each participant will be encouraged to include personal symbols and color into their overall design.

Drawing by Erasing #23023

This seasonal project will be in graphite...but not just pencil. Using powdered graphite our students will discover that erasing the graphite can be just as important as adding more to the drawing surface. Creative Halloween imagery will suddenly appear as our students learn to both add and subtract from their inventive drawings.

Monster Box #23024

Halloween is coming soon, and for the special occasion we will bring out the creative monster maker in each of our participants. Building a Monster Box from air-dried clay and mixed media is a fun way to celebrate the season. The resulting art projects will open so that the hidden Halloween storage container is revealed.

Foil Relief Drawing #23025

This novel art lesson starts with a line drawing on which string is applied. The participants then cover their artwork in aluminum. To finish this multi-step project the participants color with markers that result in metallic colors! What FUN as we will be focusing on images of Wild Turkeys and the wide range of colors they bring to the natural world.
