The Athletic Field became part of the Geneseo Park District on June 1, 2000. For many, the old athletic field was a quick jog down from the junior high under the direction of Elmer Reedy and/or JoAnne Gernant during P.E. class. Many Geneseo football alumni vividly remember moments from their legendary youth football days on the athletic field gridiron.
The Athletic Field is located on East North Street (1 block west of Community Center). The Geneseo Park District runs youth sports programs such as flag football, tennis, and golf at the Athletic Field. The Athletic Field currently serves as the host to Geneseo Youth Football and Geneseo Middle School (GMS) 8th-grade football.
The Athletic Field is open to all residents for a variety of uses such as; playing on the playground, basketball, tennis, pickleball, running/walking on the track or just lounging on the grass

Athletic Field BuildingThe 42’ x 70’ building includes Youth Football press box, concessions and equipment storage and a dedicated space for Geneseo Park District’s Summer Day Camp.

The Sideline Room in the Athletic Field building includes a sink, refrigerator and tables & chairs in a bright and inviting space. Open the all the doors and let your party spill into the green space! Perfect for graduation parties, family reunions or a birthday party.

Join the Park District for a free seminar from Hammond-Henry Hospital followed by a free light luncheon provided by the Geneseo Park District Foundation.
Hammond-Henry will present on their 12 years running - 5 Star CMS rated facility, considerations for nursing home placement, nursing home options in the area, and nursing home education for families and potential residents.
