FROSTY NEW YEAR'S PAINTING #33021

The New Year may be cold, but there is also the warmth of what the future holds for us. We will focus on how color can reveal temperature and emotion in your art work. Our young participants will be encouraged to expand their ideas of what they might usually paint in a snowy landscape.

SPRING BREAK ART CAMP #33024

The first day is about painting. A “fresco” is watercolor painted on freshly applied plaster. Smith Studio is one of the few places where our young artists can experience this unique process of painting an image directly on fresh plaster. Everyone will make their own plaster base in the morning, and then paint a watercolor image before the plaster completely sets up. After lunch we will start constructing a special Sports Sculpture with an emphasis on action and movement. This unique sculpture will be expanded and finished on the second day of art camp.

The second day of Art Camp, our young artists will be challenged to enhance their Sports Sculpture. We will encourage everyone to incorporate new ideas and details into their creative works of art.

Both days will include additional 2-D painting and drawing projects, a short movie about an important artist, educational art games and fostering friendships!
Grades: 1 - 6

BUILD A BUTTERFLY #43021

This NEW sculpture project is inspired by the artwork of Illinois artist, Heather Shore. We will encourage our young artist to add to their original design by creating a larger environment.
