The purpose of the Geneseo Park District's recognition program is to recognize employees and volunteers who consistently seek ways to help others throughout the park district, and make a significant contribution to advancing the Core Values and Mission of the Geneseo Park District.
This program is for employees, customers, and volunteers to recognize Park District staff or volunteers who consistently demonstrate our Core Value criteria of RESPECT.
Employees, customers, or volunteers nominate Park District staff and volunteers by completing a nomination form and turning it in to Administrative Assistant. Nominations will be collected on a quarterly basis and distributed to Board in Board Packet. If there is more than one nominee, the Board will vote on the recipient.
The recipient of the 1st Quarter “RESPECT” Award is Gloria Hartsock. Gloria was nominated by Nathaniel Hines. Here is what Nathaniel had to say . . .
It is my pleasure to nominate Gloria for the RESPECT Award. Gloria has held many titles within our organization. Day Camp Counselor/Assistant Manager, Community Center Manager, and Lifeguard just to name a few. She has excelled at each one of those roles and her commitment to the organization and her co-workers is unwavering. I am often asked about the reasons behind my own commitment to this organization, and what draws me to Geneseo…and I have yet to find an answer that gets it quite right. The best way I can explain it is what draws a person to their favorite song or movie, and how it makes them feel. Whether that be the energy it brings, the emotions it elicits, or the memories it brings up. It's about all of the emotions, connections, the staff I work with, and the extreme sense of fulfillment that I get at the end of the day. Gloria’s unwavering dedication is a picture of this feeling. Her versatility and commitment to helping others, even with unappealing tasks, is what makes her stand out. It's people like Gloria that make this such a great organization to work for. Gloria is a dedicated public servant who comes to work every day to make our community a better place, and our District such a great place to live. I am proud to nominate Gloria Hartsock for the RESPECT Award.
