Spring Indoor Market…Saturdays 8am-1pm @ the Community Center [541 E. North St.] … March 27 to May 15th
The Geneseo Park District’s Indoor Market will be in the Dedrick Room of the Community Center. The Indoor Market was introduced and well received in the fall of 2009. Local gardeners, bakers and artisans provide products such as fresh eggs, fruits and vegetables, plants, breads, baked goods and a variety of hand crafted items.
We hope to involve new vendors this spring as the Indoor Market continues to grow. This is an excellent fundraising opportunity for clubs and organizations to sell a specially created item on one Saturday morning.
Rent an 8’ x 3’ table for just $5.00 per table per Saturday. Two vendors may share a table.
Contact Sherry Dickens at 944-5695 for more information or to reserve a table.

Vision 2020
By · CommentsHopefully you have heard of the City’s “mapping” project: Vision 2020.
If you have not heard of this exciting project, please consider participating. The steering committee is seeking volunteers to help create the vision for Geneseo’s future and we would like you to become part of the plan. The steering committee members include Heather Roberts, Brad Solberg, Katie Andrios, Jane Scherer, John DuBois, Scott Kuffel, Rhonda Ludwig, Bill Philhower, and Molly Hamer.
This program consists of a series of five visioning sessions. Each session is organized around a central theme: Where are we now? Where do we want to be? How are we going to get there? Making it happen: Part 1 and Making it happen: Part 2. The intent is to bring together community members who have a desire to see our town grow and thrive. Facilitators from Western Illinois University/Illinois Institute for Rural Affairs will lead the discussions. During the process, the participants identify high-priority goals for community economic development, develop a workable action plan, and become organized to begin implementation of the projects.
The City of Geneseo has embarked on this strategic planning process and is looking to the citizens to help create a shared vision for Geneseo’s future. Please consider sharing your ideas with the Vision 2020 project.
If you have questions, please call Heather Roberts, the Economic Development Director at City Hall: 944-6419 or any steering committee member.
Meeting are from 7 to 9pm. Dates are as follows: Mondays, March 8th, March 15th, March 22nd, Wednesday, April 7th, Monday April 19th and 26th.
Please consider becoming part of Vision 2020.
