The Geneseo Community Center offers a multi-purpose gymnasium, program gym, sauna,
walking/jogging track, cardio/weight room, life fitness room, racquetball courts, locker rooms,
babysitting service room, indoor and outdoor swimming pool, Dedrick Room, Senior Citizens Center
and kitchen facilities. The Center has been in operation since January 16th of 1983.
Multi-Purpose Gymnasium:
The multi-purpose gymnasium includes 2 full size basketball courts, 3 official size volleybal courts a
suspendend walking'jogging track and two racquetball courts.
Walking/Running Track:
The suspended walking/running track is a two-lane, 13 laps to the mile track, for ages High School and
older. Slow joggers and walkers please stay to the inside lane. Indoor gym shoes are required.
M-W-F-Sun, run clockwise, T-TH-Sat, run counter clockwise. Children under High School age
must be accompanied by an adult sixteen years of age or older at all times. A "Special Pass" is
available to persons under High School age who wish to use the jogging track without adult supervision.

Racquetball Courts:
Two racquetball courts are available. There is a court fee and racquet/ball rental fee unless you buy
an annual racquetball pass with your membership. Court reservations may be made at the Front Desk.
Reservations may be scheduled one week in advance.
Cardio/Weight Room:
The 50' X 50' cardio/weight room features 8 treadmills, 8 elliptical cross-trainers, 3 bikes, a stairclimber,
rower, and a nu-step. Six televisions are provided with Cardio Theater for your enjoyment. The strength
area includes a full line of Magnum selectorized equipment featuring a biangular mechanism which
guides you through a natural motion. The free weights include dumbbells up to 100 lbs., a power rack,
preacher curl, and a smith and perfect squat machine.
Life Fitness Room:
Our Life Fitness room is a 40' X 45' room. Our fitness, dance and Tae Kwon Do classes are held
in this area.
Program Gym:
The program gym is a 42' X 80' room. Most preschool activity classes held in this room. Tae Kwon Do
also uses this room. On nights and weekends this room will open up to the general public at the
discretion of the manager to use as an overflow from the main gym. A batting cage is available at

Sauna:
We have a sauna located across from the kitchen & Dedrick room. During the morning hours you may
go in and use. After 3:00 pm, the sauna will be locked and you must go to the front desk and ask them
to open it up for you.
Locker Rooms:
We have two locker room facilities. There is one locker room for gym use and one locker room for indoor
pool use. Lockers are available on a daily basis in both facilities. Members and non-members may bring a
padlock to use for the day (must be removed daily). Lockers may be rented on an annual basis by
members. Small gym lockers rent for $12.00 a year and full size lockers rent for $30.00 a year. The indoor
pool locker rooms also have half-size lockers that rent for $15.00 a year.
Babysitting Service:
The Geneseo Park District Babysitting Service is available to give care for children of our patrons.
Parents or guardians must remain in the Community Center building while the child is in the babysitting
room. Please see our babysitting page for more information.
Dedrick Room:
The Dedrick Room is available to rent out to the general public. Maximum capacity is 100. You may
rent the room from 8:00 a.m. - 10:00 p.m. You may reserve the room up to 6 months in advance by
calling Carla at 944-5695. You have use of a refrigerator & stove & 50 place settings, silverware
included. You need to provide your own dish soap & towels and leave the room just like you found it.
There is no smoking or alcohol allowed. You will need to pay 2 weeks in advance.
Cost is as follows . . .
Showers, Receptions, Reunions, etc. $45.00 up to 5 hours or $60.00 all day
Non-Profit organizations: $25.00 up to 5 hours or $50.00 all day
Profit Making: $85.00 up to 5 hours or $115.00 all day
Indoor Pool:
The Indoor Pool opened on January 7, 1996. It is a four lane, 25 yard pool with a water temperature of
86 degrees. It is 75’ by 31’ in size and ranges in depth from 3’6" to 9’.
Outdoor Pool:
The Geneseo Outdoor Swimming Pool is located adjacent to the Community Center. The diving area
is 45’ x 40’, 12’ deep and is equipped with two one-meter boards and a three-meter board. The main
pool is 25 meters in length and 45’ wide. The main pool is 3’6" to 5" in depth and is equipped for
competitive swimming with six lanes. The instructional section of the pool is 40’ x 30’ and is 2’6" in
depth. The main pool also includes a 10’ x 30’ waterslide and a 6’ and 8’ portable slides that can be
transferred between the indoor and outdoor pools. The 45’ x 25’ wading pool is 18" to 21" deep.
Geneseo Senior Center:
The Geneseo Senior Center is a place where seniors can come to fulfill many social, physical and
intellectual needs. The Senior Center also offers nutritious meals, transportation, information and
assistance, outreach, trips and tours, friendly visiting, counseling, educational opportunities, health
services, recreation/social activities, volunteer opportunities and advocacy/social action.
The Senior Center room may be rented to the general public by calling 944-3793.
Geneseo Development and Growth, Inc.:
The Community Center is also the site of Geneseo Development and Growth, Inc. Growth was
established in 1974 and relocated to the Community Center on March 4, 1991. Growth is a not-for-profit
child care center licensed by the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services to care for 154
children ranging in age from 6 weeks to 12 years.
