Lifeguard Starguard Certification

This course equips participants with the skills and knowledge necessary to prevent, recognize, and respond to aquatic emergencies. Training includes water rescue techniques, CPR, first aid, and the use of AEDs, ensuring readiness for real-life scenarios. Participants will engage in hands-on practice, in-water skills sessions, and classroom instruction. Upon successful completion, attendees will earn a nationally recognized certification, qualifying them to work as professional lifeguards
Participants must 16 years old or older AND attend both days to attain certification.

In honor of Steve Alexander and his passion for aquatic safety and lifeguarding the Geneseo Park District will offer the Starguard Lifeguard Certification Course FREE* of charge.

Class details:

  • Must be 16 years and over.
  • After completion of the course, you will shadow a lifeguard during their shift.
  • Must attend both training days to receive lifeguard certification.
  • *Must be a Community Center or Park District Member, resident of the Geneseo Park District or a student in the Geneseo School District to receive the course for FREE.
