Membership Terms and Conditions

A MEMBERSHIP grants member(s) access to specific Geneseo Park District amenities. The member(s) is obligated to pay dues whether the member(s) accesses the amenities or not. Yearly memberships expire at the end of the month regardless of purchase date. Management of GPD may suspend or cancel, at any time, the rights, privileges, or membership of any member whose actions are detrimental to the enjoyment of the facilities. Management of GPD may, from time to time, change the rules, regulations, times, dates, hours, governing the operations of the Center. Notice of these changes will be available to members through normal means of communication.

MEMBERSHIP ACCESS: A COMMUNITY CENTER membership grants access to the Cardio/Weight Room, Indoor Pool, Indoor Elevated Track, Gym with Basketball, Pickleball and Racquetball Courts, Sauna, Activity Room Games/Activities, Life Fitness Room, Free Weight Room and 50% off Community Center Programs. An AQUATIC CENTER membership grants access to the large variety of amenities at the John and Carla Edwards Aquatic Center and 50% off Aquatic Center programs. A PARK DISTRICT membership grants access to both the Community Center and Aquatic Center amenities and 50% off all programs.

MEMBERSHIP TYPES: A FAMILY is defined as one or two adults along with their immediate unmarried dependent children (ages 0-25) residing at the same residence. Individuals are categorized in the following age ranges: YOUTH (6 months – 18 yrs); ADULT (19 yrs-64 yrs); SENIOR (65 yrs & older). Memberships purchased under false pretenses will be terminated and no refunds will be given.

A NON-RESIDENT is an individual who neither resides within the corporate boundaries of the Geneseo Park District nor pays taxes for the Geneseo Park District. A $80 annual non-resident fee will be applied to Community Center and Park District membership purchases or renewals and a $35 annual non-resident fee will be applied to Aquatic Center membership purchases.

BUSINESS DISCOUNTS: Businesses participating in this program pay an annual non-refundable fee for their employees to benefit from a discount on the membership of their choice. The amount is $325 for a 10% discount. Proof of current employment and a photo ID must be presented for a business discount to be applied. Only one business discount can be applied to a membership price and the employee must be included in that membership. The discount percentage is applied to the base price of annual memberships only. Only after the discount has been applied are service fees, non-resident fees, and locker fees added to the total amount to be paid. Business discounts cannot be used for 6-month, 1-month or Aquatic Center memberships. No adjustments will be made for existing memberships, only at time of renewal or upgrade.

LOCKER RENTAL: Lockers are available for annual rental in 3 sizes and must be paid for in full at time of purchase.

SHORT TERM MEMBERSHIP OPTIONS: The Geneseo Park District understands that a full year membership does not work for everyone. There are 2 short term membership options: 6-month and 1-month Community Center memberships. These memberships grant you access to the amenities at the Community Center only. These memberships are not eligible for Program or Business Membership discounts or payment plans. 6-month memberships are subject to the $80 non-resident fee.

MEMBERSHIP CANCELLATION POLICY: Annual memberships paid in full and discontinued before the year is completed will be refunded on the basis of ½ of the unused balance plus a $5 service fee. 12-Pay (ACH) Memberships cancelled prior to meeting the first 1-year commitment will be required to pay ½ of the unused balance plus a $5 service fee.

CANCEL MY MEMBERSHIP

UPGRADE POLICY: When upgrading your membership, you will receive 100% credit of the unused portion on the existing membership which is deducted from the new membership price. A new expiration date is established at the time of upgrade. New payment plan forms will be completed at this time. No credit is applied to upgrade on 12-pay (ACH) option.

MEMBERSHIPS ARE NOT TRANSFERABLE.

PHOTO WAIVER: By registering for, participating in or attending Park District programs, events or other activities, the participant agrees to the use and distribution by the Park District of his or her image. If you do not wish your household to be photographed, you will need to complete & sign the Photo Waiver form at the Geneseo Community Center.

WAIVER/RELEASE: The member(s) acknowledges and accepts the risks inherent in the use of the GPD’s services and facilities. The member(s) hereby voluntarily assumes the risk of injury, accident, death, loss, cost, or damage to his or her person or property which might arise from the use of GPD’s services or facilities. The member(s), his or her heirs, executors, representative, or assigns, hereby release the GPD from all claims or liabilities for personal injury or property damage of any kind sustained by the member while on the premises of the GPD.
