RULES & REGULATIONS

Community Center Rules & Regulations

  • Smoking in any form, including e-cigarettes, is prohibited in or on any Park District property.

  • No person shall bring into or consume, possess, make a gift of or offer sale within the District, any alcoholic beverage or liquor in any building or area in the Park District without either written direct approval from the Executive Director, a Park District permit or inclusion within a written contract. No person under the age of 21 shall consume any beer, wine or other alcoholic beverage in or on Park District property at any time.

  • No person shall within the Park District use, administer, receive, offer for sale, possess, or make available to himself, or any person or animal, any controlled substance.

  • Possession of weapons and/or concealed carry by anyone is strictly prohibited at all times while on or in Park District property.

  • All items lost or misplaced on Park District property shall be kept at the Community Center for no more than 1 month.

  • Participants and authorized users may request to have a service animal accompany them in the Park System where they are authorized users as a reasonable accommodation. Persons with disabilities are invited to contact the ADA Coordinator. The Park District will make reasonable accommodations in facilities and programs to enable participation by individuals with disabilities.

  • By registering for, participating in or attending Park District programs, events, or other activities, the participant (or parent/guardian of a minor participant) irrevocably agrees to the use and distribution by the Park District of his or her image (or of his/her minor child/ward) in photographs, video recordings, and any other electronic reproductions of such programs, events and activities for any purpose without inspection or approval and without compensation, rights to royalties or any other consideration now and in the future. If you do not wish your household to be photographed, you will need to complete and sign the Geneseo Park District Waiver form.

  • Each member or guest of Park District facilities and participant of programs has a responsibility to behave properly while on Park District premises and must adhere to specific Rules of Conduct or will be subject to remedial actions based on the Park District Behavior Management Policy.

INDOOR POOL RULES & REGULATIONS

  • Parents/guardians are responsible for supervising their children. Lifeguards are responsible for rule enforcement & responding to emergencies.
  • Children under 10 years of age will not be allowed in the Indoor Pool without supervision due to their inability to fully appreciate the dangers of water and other hazards.
  • Children under 10 years of age must be with a guardian 14 years or older.
  • Only U.S. Coast Guard approved flotation devices are allowed. The Park District has life jackets available upon request.
  • Children in diapers must wear swim diapers or plastic pants.
  • Diving is not permitted in the Indoor Pool.
  • ZERO TOLERANCE: Horseplay, such as running, excessive splashing, shoving or dunking is prohibited.
  • Persons with open sores, skin infections, adhesive bandages or suffering from an infectious condition will not be allowed in the water.
  • Spitting or spouting water in the pool or on the deck will not be tolerated.
  • Swim suits are required for admittance to the pool.
  • Water Only allowed in the Pool, no other food or drink permitted.
  • Swimming is prohibited when thunder is heard or lightening is seen.
  • Pool lifts are intended to provide accessibility to people with disabilities. Please see the lifeguard for assistance with the pool lift.
  • Indoor Pool space usage will be managed at the discretion of Park District staff 

CARDIO/WEIGHT ROOM RULES & REGULATIONS

  • There is a 30-minute time limit on all cardio equipment.
  • Please wipe down equipment before and after use.
  • Share equipment and allow others to work in between sets.
  • Please report any equipment that is not functioning properly. Report any unsafe conditions immediately.
  • Do not slam weights together or drop dumbbells, barbells or plates.
  • Always remove / return weights after you have used them.
  • Personal Training allowed by Park District authorized personnel only.
  • Shirts and shoes are required in Cardio/Weight Room.
  • No children under high school age are allowed in the cardio-weight room with the exception of middle school age students who have taken the Fitness Access Class offered by the Park District.

RECOVERY ROOM RULES & REGULATIONS

  • Limit 3 users at a time.
  • Water Only allowed, no other food or drink permitted.
  • Each person entering the room must check a key out from front desk.
  • All trash must be properly disposed of and all personal items must be removed when you leave the room.
  • No one under High School age is allowed in the Recovery Room.
  • Limit use of the Massage Chair to 10 minutes while others are waiting.
  • Limit use of Compression Equipment to 30 minutes while others are waiting.
  • Wipe off equipment after usage.
  • Return equipment to designated areas after use.
  • Be conscious of others using the room and use headphones when using any electronic device.
  • Door should be closed after entering & exiting the room.
  • Keys should only be checked out for the actual time utilizing the Recovery Room. Do not pick-up and hold key while utilizing other facilities & amenities. Key must be returned immediately upon exiting the Recovery Room.
  • Please consult your physician before utilizing the Recovery Room.

ACTIVITY ROOM RULES & REGULATIONS

  • The Activity Room is available for general use when Park District Programs or Private Rentals are not in session.
  • Activity Room availability is subject to change.
  • Food and Beverage is allowed in the Activity Room, but no food or beverages on gaming tables.
  • No sitting or standing on tables.
  • All equipment for the activity tables are available for checkout at the front desk.
  • School-aged children can be in the Activity Room, Gymnasium, or lobby areas unsupervised so long as the parent/guardian remains in the building. If parent/guardian of children under 10 years of age are not in the building, the child must be under the direct supervision of a caregiver at least 14 years of age.
  • Children age 10 and older may be at the Community Center without their parent/guardian in the building.
  • All trash must be properly disposed of and all personal items must be removed when you leave the room.
  • The exterior doorways must remain closed at all times.
  • Please hang-up your coats and bags.

GYMNASIUM RULES & REGULATIONS

  • All patrons must check-in with desk attendant. Entering the building without checking in is prohibited.
  • School-aged children can be in the gymnasium or lobby areas unsupervised so long as the parent/guardian remains in the building. Children under 10 years of age must be under the direct supervision of a parent, guardian or caregiver at least 14 years old. Children age 10 and older may be at the Community Center without their parent or guardian in the building.
  • Infants are not allowed to be brought into Fitness Classes.
  • Suitable gym clothes and shoes are required for admittance to the Center.
  • Gymnasium space will be managed at the discretion of Park District staff.
  • Water Only allowed in the Gymnasium, no other food or drink permitted.

ELEVATED TRACK RULES & REGULATIONS

  • M - W - F - SU run clockwise.
  • TU - TH - SA run counter-clockwise.
  • Slow joggers/walkers stay to inside lane.
  • Jog/walk single file.
  • Indoor gym shoes are required.
  • No loitering on the track.
  • No children under high school age may be on the elevated walking track unless they are under direct supervision of a parent/guardian and following the rules and etiquette of use with the exception of middle school aged children that have completed the Fitness Access class provided by the Geneseo Park District.
  • Water Only allowed on the elevated track, no other food or drink permitted

WALLYBALL/RACQUETBALL RULES & REGULATIONS

  • Racquetball & Wallyball courts are on a first-come first-serve basis. Please be courteous to those players waiting and limit your time to 1 hour.
  • Racquetball players must wear protective eyewear.
  • Volleyballs, racquets and racquetballs may be checked out from the front desk.
  • Suitable gym clothes and shoes are required in the Racquetball & Wallyball Courts.
  • Water Only allowed in the Racquetball & Wallyball Courts, no other food or drink permitted.

Sauna Rules & Regulations

  • Maximum Capacity is Five (5) persons.
  • Elderly persons and those suffering from heart disease, diabetes, or high blood pressure should consult their physician before using the sauna.
  • Persons using prescription medications should consult their physician before using the sauna.
  • Exit immediately if uncomfortable, dizzy, or sleepy. Staying too long in a heated area could cause overheating.
  • No one should spend more than 15 minutes in the sauna during any one session and it is recommended you do not sauna alone.
  • Jewelry (watches, rings, etc.) should not be worn in the sauna.
  • Please shower before using the sauna.
  • Gym shorts or swim suit must be worn in the sauna. Shirts & shoes must be worn once you exit the sauna.
  • No children under high school age may be in the sauna unless they are under direct supervision of a parent/guardian and following the rules and etiquette of use with the exception of middle school aged children that have completed the Fitness Access class provided by the Geneseo Park District.
  • Water Only allowed in the Sauna, no other food or drink permitted.
