Program Registration Information
The Geneseo Park District operates in “seasons.” Seasons are as follows: Winter, Spring, Summer, Fall. Each season may have multiple “sessions”. These sessions are monthly or 6 weeks in length and typically referred to as Session 1 or Session 2. Prior to each season, a program guide will arrive as an insert in the Henry County Advertizer. An electronic version of this program guide is made available online approximately 6 weeks to the printed version arriving in homes. Additional printed copies of the program guide are made available at the Community Center and at various locations in Geneseo.
The Geneseo Park District website is the most up-to-date information and should be checked routinely for updates, special events, and new programs. For youth programs, a quarterly program flyer is distributed through the school system. At times throughout the year, specific programs are highlighted with an advertisement, press release, or press brief in the Geneseo Republic. Be sure to check bulletin boards at the Community Center for information as well.
All registration is on a first come, first serve basis. A registration is guaranteed when payment has been made and a waiver has been signed. Telephone registration is not available.
We ask that your sign up early and before the deadline to so we will be able to provide you with the best program experience possible. Deadlines are created due to the time frame it takes to mobilize instructors, order supplies, form rosters and create schedules. Registering early insures that our instructor to participant ratio goals can be met.
The Park District and/or its Independent Contractors reserve the right to consolidate, postpone or cancel any activity or program that has not met the established minimum. All cancellations of programs will be done 3-week days before the first class. On days when Geneseo Schools are cancelled because of weather, our programs are also cancelled. Make-up classes will be scheduled if the facility and instructor resources are available.
Most programs listed have a Member rate (M), a Resident rate (R), and a Non-Resident rate (NR). All Three Memberships receive 50% off All programs; Gym Memberships receive 50% off all Gym programs; Indoor Pool Memberships receive 50% off all Indoor Pool programs; Outdoor Pool Memberships receive 50% off all Outdoor Pool programs. A Resident of the Park District is any person who lives within the Park District boundaries. These boundaries are different than the Geneseo School District. The Park District includes all that reside within the City of Geneseo and some of the surrounding townships. Please call us at (309) 944-5695 if you have any questions regarding residency requirements. Those who live outside of the Park District boundaries are considered Non-Residents.
Full refunds will be given to a registrant for any program, provided that the refund is requested of the Park District before the class starts. Refunds after a class begins will be at a rate of 1/2 of the unused portion at the time of the request.
It is the policy of the Park District that program participants must have a current membership to participate at membership rates. Memberships must be purchased prior to the program start date to receive the programs membership rate, the difference will NOT be refunded for memberships purchased after the first day of a program. Patrons may register for programs at the membership rate beyond their membership expiration date but if they do not renew they will be obligated to pay the difference between the member and non-member rate for programs that they continue to participate in past their expiration date.
Programs may not be transferred from one person to another.
The Park District does not provide accident insurance. Each person participates at his or her own risk.
The Park District recommends that you consult your physician before beginning any new exercise program.
